How did all these strands come into one?

There’s a huge difference between graphic design and marketing design.
The former can look beautiful and be admired by others in the industry, the latter does the intended job of promotion and selling the clients service or product.
Forget what I like. Forget what you like. Answer the question. Who are we talking to?
With over 30 years industry experience working on projects as varied as posters, campaigns, product design, fashion, exhibitions, video, photography and shop design, Kubek has a wealth of experience to call upon.
Client size is immaterial, from a multi-million pound household name, through to a one-man-band, all clients are given the same level of attentive service.
It’s all down to the brief, background research and a conversation (no matter how meandering) to find the best solution.

Here’s a little bit of history. I started out in a ‘parachute’ agency. This was a design and marketing company that would be called upon to supply expertise and skills should a major agency become stretched of resources. Or sometimes, if they felt their creative team were becoming a little tired, we’d be called in. The agency I worked for had it’s own clients too – these were on a strict budget – and if I got ‘carried away’ with what I felt was needed to truly complete the job, ie an illustration, a photograph or a Point-Of-Sale, I would be told – there’s no extra budget for that – unless you do it yourself. So that’s what I would do. From there I went on to some agencies, became the brand manager for a large concern and have been cutting my own path since 1996, learning all the way.
I have forever been curious about things and so one of my strengths working with different clients is getting the brief out them – and sometimes they even discovered things that they never knew they knew about their own business.
 
Literally, communication is all, whether verbal or graphic – pass the right message to the right people and they will respond.
